About Hawa Shelter Home

It provides services for the survivors of Gender Based Violence since 2008. We maintain a 35-bed shelter location for women who have left abusive relationships with or without their children and an off-site location for women in the community who are seeking support.

Hawa Shelter Home is an umbrella frame work of Star Welfare Organization for women’s rights & access to social inclusion, that is located in street # 2 new abadi kot fareed city Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan.

Agency staff provides counseling, safety planning, women and children’s groups, legal and court support, referrals, economic rehabilitation, and information and education about violence against women and girls. So that women are fully empowerment and equipped with required skills for successful re-integration into the society.

It is one of the few facilities in Seattle that accepts women with male children up to age 18, because we have to manage a separate shelter for children, that is Star Child Care Center (SCCC) for the facilitation of male children up to age of 10 to 16. This shelter is designed to create an enabling environment to develop and demonstrate a system which leads to full rehabilitation and self-fulfillment of survivors of Gender Based Violence (GBV) that provides shelter and support services to women and their children, who are homeless for any of the following reasons:

Living accommodations and meals for up to 100 women and children at a time.
Clothing, personal care and hygiene items
Formal and informal education to women & children.

Economic empowerment

I am a feminist and journalist of district Sargodha, Pakistan. I been working as human right activist since 2004 and as bureau chief of Rohi Television and Incharge of all branches of Hawa Shelter Home.I am voice of a women in Sargodha, Pakistan.

I have a goal to empower women and achieve equal political, economic, cultural, personal and social right of women and always support to victim of gender based violence. My mission
is to assist women and their children in crisis by providing a safe, temporary home, support services, and hope through empowerment, resulting in self-sufficient clients who return to the
community and to help break cycle of domestic violence and homelessness.
I am working on women economic empowerment to create an enabling environment for the rehabilitation of ultra-poor, needy children, youth and GBV families.
I am also trying to improve income generation opportunities by enabling skill development. enhancement of basic business and financial skills, women entrepreneurial development and employability through promotion of a competitive skills training market.
I am general secretary of Starwelfare Organization and executive member of Electronic Media Club Sargodha and strong affiliation with national
and international organiztions.


Star Welfare Organization's services could not operate without those who share their time and money so that women and young girls who have been tortured and abused can have a place of hope. It could help in promote peace in the society.

Just to give you an idea of the kind of impact your donation makes:

30,000 PKR. funds safe shelter and other basic needs such as food, medical care, medicines and daily utilities for a resident woman for a whole month.
2500 PKR can feed 1 children and infants for a whole month and this time we have 13 children in shelter.
15,000 PKR each can ensure a basic academic and vocational education for all the residents for a month.
4000 PKR for each beggar to mediation and rehabilitation for a whole month.
10,000 PKR for a blind to arrange vocational education and resident for a whole month.

45,000 PKR for utility bills for a whole month.

Your denotation will help to meet basic needs of gender based victims (women, girls, and children), beggars and B lands to provide emergency shelter, foods and non-food items, psycho-sociology and legal counseling, medical referral and essential supplies for up-to 97 resident women, girls, beggars and blinds par month.
